The Texas Adjutant General, Major General Thomas Suelzer, visited the Texas State Guard Recruiting Booth during the Texas Division of Emergency Management conference. The Recruiting booth featured a few of the elite units of the Texas State Guard, such as the mobile Dive and Training Unit, Canine Search and Rescue.
The Adjutant General is the Senior National Guard Commander for the State of Texas and reports directly to the Governor.
The Texas State Guard also spoke at the conference. Colonel Roger Sheridan (T-3) and Lt. Colonel Michael Sledge spoke on the history and mission of the TXSG.
The Adjutant General of Texas stopped by the Texas State Guard static display featuring the mobile Dive and Training Unit, Canine Search and Rescue, and recruiting station at this year’s Texas Division of Emergency Management conference held 31 MAY-3JUN 2022 in San Antonio.In keeping with our historical role for the conference, TXSG additionally provided 25 ETN operators, overseen by ETN OIC Chief Bledsoe, to track training attendance for participants.Also featured at the conference were TXSG speakers COL Roger Sheridan (T-3) and LT COL Michael Sledge (OIC, Recruiting) who respectively spoke on the history and mission of the TXSG as well as opportunities to serve.
