Troops from the Ohio Military Reserve (State Defense Force) recently participated in a joint exercise with FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency), the Ohio Emergency Management Agency (EMA), and the Civil Air Patrol. The exercise simulated an emergency where these multiple organizations were needed to setup multiple Points of Distribution (POD) for food, water and supply distribution to Ohio’s citizens.
The Ohio Military Reserve has been tasked with this mission by the Ohio Adjutant General (Senior National Guard Commander of the State). They are to be ready at all times to provide for POD distribution. This proved especially crucial during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
OHMR Soldiers recently participated in a joint exercise at Wright Patterson Air Force Base with FEMA, Ohio EMA, Civil Air Patrol, to simulate Points of Distribution for a simulated event. As usual, Ohio’s Own rose to the occasion. The POD ran smoothly, with all entities playing integrated roles well together. Thanks to LTC Gary Lehman COS of OHSDF for the photos.
