Troops from the Texas State Guard’s 3rd Brigade recently spent time with students from the Weslaco High School Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC). They assisted the students in competing and completing in the Bobcat Raider Competition.
The Texas State Guard as well as many other State Defense Forces assist in such mentoring programs for youths. One such program many State Defense Forces assist with is the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program. State Defense Forces support the National Guard in this program which trains and mentors teenagers to excel in school and provide leadership skills they may use in their future careers.
This past weekend troops from 1BN Weslaco area volunteered to help in the JROTC Bobcat Raider Competition in Edinburg as judges and support and at the same time mentoring young students. Hooah 1st Bn Outstanding Job!!! #duty #honor #Texas #TXSG #Hooah
