The 4th Battalion, 2nd Brigade of the Texas State Guard (State Defense Force) recently spent their monthly drill competing in a Search & Rescue Field Training Exercise. Multiple teams were organized with the goal of locating casualties, providing lifesaving first aid and evacuating them to safe zones. Exercises like this help develop each soldiers Search & Rescue skillset so once activated for such a mission they can quickly deploy and complete the mission.
The Texas State Guard has been devoting much of their training to Search & Rescue the past year. They hold some of the most qualified Search & Rescue teams in the country, from woodland Search & Rescue to Maritime Search & Rescue. Teams that are capable of quickly deploying to any part of Texas and providing these crucial skills.
