The Tennessee State Guard (State Defense Force) recently held a Joint Training Exercise with The National Guard. State Guard troops worked with Tennessee Army National Guard Black Hawks to practice the loading and unloading of causalities. The troops learned the proper procedures on how to safely approach the helicopters as well as how to insert and unload ambulatory and non-ambulatory casualties onto the helicopters. This type of training is vital to ensure both organizations can work seamlessly together as The State Guard often works The National Guard during medical missions.
