Soldiers of Texas State Guards 6th Brigade Shine in Supporting ‘The Battle for Hope’

Soldiers from the Texas State Guard’s (State Defense Force) 3rd Battalion, 6th Brigade, demonstrated their unwavering support for a noble cause at Camp Mabry, Austin, on September 30, 2023. They lent their strength and expertise to “The Battle for Hope,” a charitable boxing event that brought together military veterans, law enforcement personnel, and firefighters for an exhilarating and meaningful competition. This State of Texas authorized event not only showcased the participants’ boxing skills but also served as a heartwarming family day. The event was replete with delicious food, live music from local bands, kids’ bouncy houses for little ones to enjoy, and a variety of local vendors offering their wares. The soldiers of the 3rd Battalion played a crucial role in ensuring the event’s success, efficiently managing various aspects such as Operations, Logistics, Safety/Medical, and Security during both daytime and nighttime operations through the implementation of an Incident Command System (ICS).

Their dedication to supporting “The Battle for Hope” not only demonstrated the Texas State Guard’s commitment to community engagement but also highlighted the importance of unity and camaraderie among those who serve and protect our communities. It was a day that celebrated both the resilience of military veterans, law enforcement, and firefighters and the spirit of giving back to the community. Through their involvement in this charitable boxing event, the soldiers of the 3rd Battalion, 6th Brigade, showcased their selfless dedication to both their duty and the betterment of society, making the event a resounding success and leaving a lasting impact on the hearts of all those who attended.

Camp Mabry, Austin Tx., Sep 30, 2023, soldiers from the Texas State Guard, 3rd Battalion 6th Brigade, supported The Battle for Hope, a non-profit boxing charity event. The event was a State of Texas authorized boxing match between military veterans, law enforcement and fire fighters. It was a fun filled family day of great food, bands, kids’ bouncy houses, and local vendors.
The 3BN’s role exercised an Incident Command System (ICS) for supporting the event in the areas of Operations, Logistics, Safety/Medical and Security, both in daytime and nighttime operations.
