During the last two weeks The California State Military participated in a large scale Federal exercise called, Cyber Dawn 2024, this two-week exercise brought together multiple military branches & state agencies enhance to enhance cyber security & cyber defense of State & Federal infrastructure. This initiative brought together nearly every branch of the U.S. military, including the Air National Guard, Army National Guard, Coast Guard, Space Force, US Marine Corps, and California State Guard (State Defense Force). The exercise also included civilians from state agencies with expertise in cyber security, working together to simulate and prepare for potential cyber threats to the services on which Californians depend. The dedicated cyber teams worked tirelessly to ensure compliance, security, and to identify vulnerabilities in these critical networks. Through such incredible training simulations, The US Military & California State Military aims to build a safer digital future.
The California State Guard, Virginia Defense Force, Maryland Defense Force, and many other State Defense Forces augment their National Guard Cyber Defense units with troops experienced in cybersecurity. State Defense Forces are filled with troops who work in Information Technology and Cyber Security fields. They add to their National Guard and the defense of their state and country, ensuring a robust and resilient defense mechanism against potential cyber threats. This collaboration leverages the unique expertise of civilian cybersecurity professionals, further strengthening our national cyber defense capabilities.
