The Connecticut Foot Guard (State Defense Force) recently graduated several recruits from their Initial Entry Training program (IET – Basic Training). IET is a program all State Defense Forces require of all Non-Prior Service recruits. The program provides Basic Military Training to new recruits to get them accustomed with knowledges and skills such as Drill & Ceremony, First Aid, Land Navigation, Military Law, etc. Those who have served in the US Military Forces are exempt from IET as their Federal service satisfies such requirements.
Initially the class started with 25 recruits but only seven managed to complete the training and become part of the Connecticut Foot Guard.
The First Company Governor’s Foot Guard graduated its newest members with a graduation ceremony, earning their Foot Guard nametapes, E-2 Rank patches, along with the coveted Unit Crest. What started as a group of 25 men and women in the journey, 7 withstood the challenges and training and succeeded. We welcome:PVT BargonPVT ChowaniecPVT HenryPVT StevensonPVT TrippPVT WhitneyPVT Wilkosz
