The Commanding General of the Georgia State Defense Force, Brig. Gen. Mark D. Gelhardt, Sr., recently attended a South Carolina State Guard training drill. While at the drill he addressed the troops and even sat in on a senior staff briefing.
In the last few years many State Defense Force Commanding Generals have taken trips to other State Defense Forces, such as when the South Carolina State Guard delegation visited the Alaska State Defense Force, to develop communications and see what each could be doing better to serve their National Guard and State.
The Commander of the Georgia State Defense Force, Brig. Gen. Mark D. Gelhardt, SR. (Pictured right), visited South Carolina State Guard Headquarters in Columbia today and addressed the HHD morning drill formation. He was welcomed by SC State Guard Deputy Commander Brig. Gen. Michael Langston. BG Gelhardt also sat in on a senior staff briefing during his visit to the historic Olympia Armory. #SCSG #GSDF
