The Joint Task Force Army National Guard Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Lefton, recently participated in a promotion ceremony for a New York Guard soldier. 2nd LT Alexander Cisneros was promoted to 1st LT after his long and distinguished service as part of Joint Task Force North. 1st LT Cisneros was one of the New York Guard troops who had been activated for State Active Duty in March of 2020. The 1st LT has continuously served since 2020 serving in multiple roles in the Task Force.
After the ceremony Lieutenant Colonel Lefton mentioned how “The NYG has been a huge asset to the mission since 2020”. The New York Guard worked hand in hand with the National Guard in multiple missions throughout the state. They deployed hundreds of troops to counter the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Congratulations to 2nd LT Alexander Cisneros to His promotion to 1LT on July 11, 2022, at Camp Smith Training Site. 1LT Cisneros was promoted to by New York Army National Guard LTC Lefton Commander of JTF North.During the reading of the promotion orders, LTC Lefton mentioned that 1LT Cisneros has been on State Active Duty since March 2020.
