The 2nd Regiment of The Tennessee State Guard (State Defense Force) recently spent their weekend training drill on Unmanned Aerial System (UAS). The troops learned how these new devices function and for what missions they should be best utilized. Following this training the troops had an inspection of their 72 hour go bags. These inspections ensure every soldier is able to deploy for at least 3 days without the need for food or supplies. It allows them to deploy as a quick & prepared force when called to Active Duty. The troops then finished up their weekend with some communications training. A full packed weekend for The 2nd Regiment of The Tennessee State Guard.
Many State Defense Forces have been adopting UAS’s. They are being utilized in such missions as Search & Rescue as well as more dangerous missions for post natural disaster. They can provide critical information to headquarters on the location of stranded citizens or the state of critical infrastructure without risking the lives of emergency responders.
